I’d like to take credit for this statement, but sadly, I can’t.The similie is accurate, however. Bisbee marches to the tune of a different drummer, melding the old
with the psychedelic new.The young and the old mix on the streets of Bisbee, and it’s a great thing.
Since Bisbee is so very steep and condensed, we don’t have postal service. We have to go to the Post Office every day and pick up our mail at a turn of the century post office, complete with the original post office boxes.Getting the mail becomes a social event. Yet another good thing.
It’s amazing how many people are downright pleased we’ve decided to move here. We’ve lost count of how many times we’ve heard, “Welcome to Bisbee!” It’s not a cliche, either. It has been a genuine response by all. Like a true small town, the word has gotten out – who we are, where we’re from, and what we plan to do in town.
It’s a town like no other.Miners and hippies converge.Mayberry on acid, indeed.
